Well, a lot going on here. I'm about to wrap up my outpatient therapy. I'm walking without a cane (most of the time). I feel like I'm actually regaining my life. I've been able to help the girls get their classrooms ready which I haven't been able to do in years. I actually tied my own shoe the other day. Haven't done that in 4 years. (I'm not supposed to even now because of hip precautions but at least I know I can).
We hired a contractor to do up plans for a cottage house for Mike. I'm also meeting with a financial advisor about other options but we will make a decision about something in the next 6 months. Mike is very open to all the ideas and we are taking our time to help him adjust to the idea of moving.
I turned 65 last Sunday and got my Medicare card. I'm officially a geezer!
This is my last month off work and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. I'm dreading returning to work because the atmosphere at the hospital is very tense. Or at least it was when I left and the last time I visited. I plan to make the most of my last year before retirement and just have as much fun as possible.
For some unknown reason we have been priviledged to some unusually cool weather for an Oklahoma summer. I'm not complaining one bit. I'm afraid the heat is returning next week but hey it is supposed to be hot in August.

Happy belated birthday!
Thanks Meryl!
Welcome to the geezer club! It sounds as though things are going well. That's a birthday gift in itself.
I prefer to call we ladies 65 and over "Grande Olde Dames" and Dames is pronounced in the *proper* way "Dohms" not Daymes! Now we sound all fancy and everyone will want us to come for tea and scones... LOL
Sounds as if you are hurtling down the road to recovery! Fantastic! Keep up the good work.
Hugs from Canader!
