Friday update

Well it is Friday and I had no scheduled therapy but I did my exercises on my own.  My hamstrings are so tight from not walking for so long.  I'm trying to stretch them but right now they really hurt.  Another side effect of being non ambulatory is that my knees have turned inward and I'm not sure how we are going to straighten my legs. I roll my hip inward causing me to be knocked kneed.

Bella is home now and Ron is happy to get his baby back.  We also had someone come out to install grab bars in the bathroom to make it easier for me.  We are also looking at building a small cottage in the backyard for Mike later on down the road!  We have some other small projects we are considering as well.

Dani,
Because of my EDS my right hip slides out of the socket as soon as I begin to tire. I've found a brace on-line I am going to ask my dr about during my next appt. It's called a Donjoy serf strap. Just google it.

You need to ask your doctor or PT which configuration to buy, I'm pretty certain I'll need the right one for my right hip, as it exerts the stabilization on the outer surface of the joint.

It's light and fits under clothes, unlike my old steel braces which made me sound like a junkyard approaching. LOL

Sleep tight dear, the worst days are behind you now.

Hugs from Canada.

Thanks for the info Deb. I'll share with my doctor and therapist.

Knees turning inward from not being ambulatory? I'll have to check mr. kenju and see if that is happening to him. His Physical therapist told him to use a walker more often and the cane less, since he seems to be more stable with the walker. We thought it was a step backwards - but she knows best.

I think this is a result of the pain I was having in my hip! My hip was frozen so it rotated inward causing my knee to turn inward also. Now I have retrain my legs and brain!
